Description

Are you teaching your middle school and high school students budget, personal financial literacy, life skills, or child development? Look no further than this NO PREP and detailed lesson on how to find out approximately how much it cost to raise a baby birth to age one. This lesson has complete directions to lead your students through the lesson clearly. All the hard work is done for you, all you must do is print (or upload lesson online) the NO PREP pages and watch your students have fun as they engage in how much it costs to raise a baby.

What students will do?

1. Warm up questions.

2. Teacher will go over directions. Students will be given a scenario and a budget to find the price of items needed to raise a baby from birth to age one. Items that are need to raise a baby from birth to age one are included in the lesson.

3. Students will begin working on the lesson.

4. Students will answer reflection questions at the end of the activity.

The lesson will take approximately three 50 minute class periods depending on the ability of the students. It is geared towards 9-12 grades. This will help students prepare for the financial responsibility of living on their own.
