Parent Resource for Guided Reading Levels
What educators are saying
Description
This product is perfect for parent teacher conferences or other meetings where reading progress is being discussed. The following resource is written specifically for parents to understand their child's reading level and how best to help them when reading at home. Adapted from the Fountas and Pinnell reading system and the Literacy Continuum, these one-page (per level) papers make it easy to distribute to parents as needed. Each hand-out gives a clear breakdown of behaviors/skills that children reading at that specific level should be exhibiting and how to discuss those skills with children. Parents can use these easy-to-follow resources to help build strong reading habits at home. I use them in my own classroom and distribute them during parent conferences, Back-to-School night, IEP meetings, and right before summer break. Resources are in order from A-Z and purchasing this product gets you all levels. (Note: Q/R, S/T, U/V, W/X, Y/Z are combined on one sheet)
