Description
The Name Pattern Project is sure to be a hit with your class of K-3rd grade kids. I have used it with great success in several Kindergarten classes, but also have a 2nd grader at home who loves doing this and begs to do more! They love discovering how the different letters and colors create unique patterns.
I’ve created a few different versions so you can choose what suits your purpose best. There are options specifically for the “100th Day” and more general options for any day! Every grid has 100 squares, but I prefer the one with 9 squares across instead of 10 squares across because if you used a 10 x 10 square for your 5-letter names, the plain stripe pattern it creates just isn’t very exciting.
1. Using a pencil, have kids write one letter of their name in each square.
2. Color each letter a different color… for example, color all the “e”s in your name blue (or whatever color you want)!
