What educators are saying
The resource was a great start for my incoming 4th and 5th graders to measure where they are on the progression of written responses. The students then used it as a foundation for what was needed to progress to the next level.
The word choice for these rubrics is easy for students to understand. They are also colorful and engaging.
Description
Use these rubrics to teach students the expectations for short and extended constructed response questions and prepare them for answering text-based questions on assessments. They are written with kid-friendly language so students can self-assess their writing. These rubrics were adapted from the NYS ELA constructed response rubrics for 3rd Grade.I included two headings on the second page that can be used if you’d like to post these rubrics on a bulletin board. After each rubric is an enlarged version that you can use on an anchor chart or bulletin board.
*Update: The 4-point rubric has two larger versions – one with each scoop on a separate poster and the other is an enlarged rubric that you can piece together.
