What educators are saying

I used this during the first week of school to help build classroom community. It was great! No prep, which is always appreciated.
This is exactly as it is labeled! I was able to purchase it and use it for a day I had to create sub plans for my small group. It was very easy to understand and the students enjoyed it!

Description

NO PREP DIGITAL ESCAPE ROOM - Build Teamwork

PERFECT FOR EVERY CLASSROOM

Escape rooms help cultivate a GROWTH MINDSET by nurturing problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Having done so many breakout and escape rooms in my own class, I can tell you that it's really easy to spot a child that is stuck in a fixed mindset. They will do one of two things; act like they are too cool for school and not participate or they will just quit. This is great information for a teacher because now you know how to support them.

Build a positive classroom culture with this fun team building activity.

In this escape room activity, students must work together to solve the clues. For example, the very first clue requires everyone to add their birthdays. Another thing that will amaze you is the students that step up and figure out some of the clues. Often times, these are your out of the box thinkers and the ones you least expect to rise to the occasion.

This escape rooms will also tell you a lot about the type of teacher you are.

If you spend a lot of time challenging your students to think, your kids will be successful and you won't have to offer a lot of support in solving the clues.

Escape Rooms are the perfect beginning of the year activity.

Imagine if your students walked into your class on the first day of school and you said, "The first group to escape, gets extra recess!" In addition to exercising their brains, they will spend valuable time getting to know each other and you can't put a price on that! That's true team building.

The Back To School Escape Room is designed to challenge your students in the best way.

This is truly an engaging NO PREP lesson. I've provided a template for you to use when you walk around the room to give a little extra help the groups that get stuck. I call them "lifelines." Each group gets 3 lifelines to use as they wish. The escape room clues are hard and they will almost certainly need to use a couple of lifelines.

This Beginning of the Year Escape Room is designed to challenge your students in the best way.

Remember, the lifelines are for support, not for you to give them the answers. Don't be afraid to let them struggle a little. It's good for them. Failure is how students develop critical thinking skills. Problem-solving is an essential skill for every young person. It teaches perseverance and grit. To put it plainly, escape rooms reinforce the Growth Mindset.

This escape room is not grade specific.

This escape room could be used in almost any grade. In fact, one of the puzzles is from a Chinese kindergarten entrance exam! I couldn't figure it out for the longest time and sometimes older kids will have a harder time with this escape room because they've been taught to solve not think.

Don't be afraid to try this, even if you teach high school!

All you need is one internet-connected device for each group of 2-5. The average class takes about 30 minutes to complete (with clues).

This product comes with step by step instructions and an answer key.
