Syllable Ladder Instructions:

1. Choose the syllable type: Find the deck with words that focus on the syllable type you are teaching
2. Read the first syllable at the top of the ladder
3. Add one syllable at a time as you read down the ladder
4. Read the whole word

Chunking Instructions:

(The first card of each deck has chunking prompts to practice with)

1. Finger Trace: Trace the colored swooping lines with your finger as you read each “chunk”.
2. Hand Cover: Cover the word with your hand. Reveal and read one “chunk” at a time.
3. Read: Slide your finger across the arrow and read the whole word!
