Mother's Day - Let's Celebrate All Mothers! - Differentiated

The Let’s Celebrate All Mothers! package includes multiple differentiated activities in honour of all mothers and other special people in the students’ lives such as grandmas and aunts. 

The resource includes three writing-related tasks:

• Making a list
• Writing a letter
• Completing a word search

The activities are offered in two versions: general and differentiated.

Making a list:

• The students are asked to write five things they like about their mom or another important person in their lives
• Differentiated version: the students are offered a pre-populated list with five options and are asked to place a checkmark to show their choices

Writing a letter:

• The students are expected to write a short letter with the following sentence starter: You are special to me because …
• Differentiated version: the students cut out and paste the words ‘play with me’ or ‘read to me’ to complete a simple letter template

Completing a word search:

• The students need to find ten adjectives that describe mom: brave, caring, cool, fun, happy, kind, loving, patient, smart, and sweet.
• Differentiated version: the students only have five words in a smaller grid: brave, fun, happy, smart, and sweet.

The answer key to the word searches is included.

Two additional Mother’s Day activities are included in the package:

Colour a bookmark: 

• Two design options are available

Draw related pictures:

• The students are given paper photo frames to draw pictures of themselves with their mom or another loved one

Also included in the resource:

Three pocket pages to hold the Mother’s Day activities (two activities per pocket page)

Consider sending one pocket page with two activities as a Mother’s Day gift or bundle all three pockets with all activities as a special scrapbook gift to celebrate all mothers and mother figures.
