Songs are the way to a child's heart, so why not make it educational in the meantime?
This download includes the song lyrics to "The Monster Mash," as well 7 close read questions to actively engage students in the reading and writing process. These questions ask students to answer questions based on the Halloween song, using specific text evidence.
Also included is a brief article on the history of Halloween, including where some of the more popular traditions have come from. This article is also accompanied by 7 close read questions to get kids thinking at a higher level, while also using text evidence to support their thoughts and ideas.
UPDATED on 10/9/15 to now include 3 interactive notebook pages for students. My kids this year are using their notebooks A TON, so I thought I would add a couple of pages in to use in your interactive NB. There is a summary page, a INB page on vocabulary, as well as some general comprehension questions for students.
