Directions for digital game: This is a fun, interactive way to get students to sound out multisyllabic words, based on your focus skill. Students roll dice and choose a word to read from the matching numbered column. Then, the teacher clicks on the word they read and the student now has an opportunity to read the same skill focus word in a sentence. Once the student reads the sentence, click the graphic in the top, right corner to return to the original Roll and Read and the completed word will disappear!

Directions for printable play: Have students roll a die and then choose a word from the column to read. I like to have students cross out their word as they read to make it more interactive. You can print and put the activity in a plastic sleeve or project on the white board. This is an easy and fun activity at the end of a lesson.

Please note that some functionality is lost when the digital game is used on iPads. This resource works best on a desktop or laptop using PowerPoint.
