Any time you need the students engaged while working independently. The informational text provides students with all they need to complete the Crossword Puzzle and Practice Sheets. I have included different options for differentiation; and fast-finisher activities. Although not intended as an in-depth lesson, this is NOT FLUFF. My goal is for the student to stay engaged while learning independently of the teacher or substitute. It can be used with 6th, 7th, or 8th grades at any time of the year. This can also be a good subpacket for one class period in a pinch. No teaching is needed. Just print and go.
