What educators are saying

I love teaching about Johnny Appleseed and I am always on the lookout for a good resource. I found one here!

Description

**Johnny Appleseed Emergent Reader for Kindergarten- Fun Book to Practice Counting and Colors**

This emergent reader little book will help young students practice early reading skills, while celebrating Johnny Appleseed!!

This book begins with Johnny Appleseed saying 'My name is Johnny Appleseed. I like apples." On the next 5 pages, Johnny sees groups of apples, beginning with 1 apple and working up to 5 apples. The color of the apples is also specified to give students practice with color words :) This book is a great way to practice beginning reading skills, while also reviewing counting to 5 and color words.

Sight words included in this book are I, see, red, yellow, green, and like.

This book includes the same text on both the top and bottom of each sheet of paper to make copying, sorting, stapling, and cutting easy to create a class set of little books!!

**Click here for the matching Shared Reading PowerPoint!**

If you like this emergent reader with a “Fall/Autumn” theme,
you might like some of my other little books that would be great to use in your kindergarten classroom in the fall.

**Apple Tree Life Cycle **
**Pumpkin Life Cycle **
**Counting Pumpkins **
**Look at the Scarecrow **
**Our Constitution- VERY easy book for Constitution Day **
Thanks for looking and happy teaching!!!
