1. A 24 slide presentation discussing the different types of evaluations used in Sports Medicine with an emphasis on HOPS and all it entails. There are discussion questions at the end of the slides to be used as "knowledge checks" in an interactive notebook or as an independent assignment.
2. 7 Athletics based HOPS scenarios. I let students color code each statement in the scenario based on which part of HOPS it falls under. This activity could be extended after the lesson on documentation by having them separately mark up the same scenarios for which section of a SOAP note they would fit into, or have students write a SOAP note for each.
3. 31 slide presentation discussing the use of SOAP notes for documentation and common abbreviations used! It Includes 4 SOAP practice scenarios. You could have them write out SOAP notes for each scenario, or just talk them through it. It also includes a QR code link to a quizlet to practice those abbreviations and 3 discussion questions at the end of the slides! You can use these questions as “knowledge checks” in an interactive notebook, as a separate assignment, or just to start discussion in your class.
4. Decoding Abbreviations in Documentations Gallery Walk activity with 12 practice SOAP entries for students to practice interpreting abbreviations.
