What educators are saying

Great self-checking practice. I used this for students to see how well they understood the content prior to giving them a quiz.
This was the perfect resource I was looking for! Quick, repetitive practice on the concept of a function to help drive it home to students. Love that it was self-paced too!

Description

Students can practice identifying functions with this self-checking practice activity in Google Slides.

This resources includes tables of values, lists of ordered pairs, graphs, and mapping diagrams. Students determine if each relation is a function or not. They can also click to see helpful tips. The resource will let students know if they are correct or not (along with an explanation) after each example. 15 relations are included.

After the practice, a final slide asks students to explain how to determine if tables, lists, graphs, and mapping diagrams are functions. This slide can be checked by the teacher.

Students will need Google accounts to access this file. This resource works great in Google Classroom and for distance learning.

Understand that a function is a rule that assigns to each input exactly one output. The graph of a function is the set of ordered pairs consisting of an input and the corresponding output.
Understand that a function from one set (called the domain) to another set (called the range) assigns to each element of the domain exactly one element of the range. If 𝘧 is a function and 𝘹 is an element of its domain, then 𝘧(𝘹) denotes the output of 𝘧 corresponding to the input 𝘹. The graph of 𝘧 is the graph of the equation 𝘺 = 𝘧(𝘹).
