If you haven't used Hands-On Equation kits to introduce algebra, then do so! It's an incredible program. I have used it with students as young as 3rd grade and with high school students.
I created this product to use in conjunction with the program to model the equations on my interactive whiteboard. This file coincides perfectly with Levels 1-3 (all 26 lessons) of the Hands on Equation kit. It ensures that you have to do NO PREP! Students are able to practice using pawns and cubes directly on the interactive whiteboard.
Each Lesson has the problem already set up and ready to go which coincides perfectly with the Hands-On Equation kit. It guides the teacher on what to do next so that students stay engaged and you are able to follow along with the program. Just open the file to the next lesson, and you are all set! I have also included a completely blank scale so that you can create and practice your own problems.
The product is best used as a Smart Notebook file since the "clone" features allows you to grab as many pawns and cubes as you need. However, I am also including a PowerPoint version which is still incredibly useful if you don't have the Smart Notebook software.
Updated to also include a Google Classroom™ version to help with distance learning!
