The picture sort activity features a set of colorful and eye-catching cards depicting various scenarios commonly encountered in a school setting. Each card showcases a specific behavior choice, either good or bad, along with corresponding visuals. Students will be able to visually identify and differentiate between positive and negative behaviors, providing them with a clearer understanding of the expectations and consequences associated with their choices.

Ideas for How to Use it in Your Classroom

The activity is simple to use and can be adapted to various grade levels. The cards can be sorted into two distinct categories: "Good Behavior Choices" and "Bad Behavior Choices," providing a tangible representation of the consequences of their actions. I use the behavior picture sort activity after we read the book, David Goes to School. Then, we follow up with the cut-and-paste sort as an independent activity. This behavior picture sort activity fits in a pocket chart or can be used to make an anchor chart.
