Fun with Ciphers Digital Cipher Wheel, Pigpen Cipher, and Caesar Shift Cipher
- Google Slides™
Description
The Great Classroom Escape uses a variety of ciphers and tools in our digital escape rooms. Many teachers are interested in creating their own breakout activities to use in their classrooms, and we wanted to share some digital tools that you can use! This product is intended for you to use with the students in your own classroom and not for resale with your own TpT products. Students will need their own Google Drives™ in order to use the editable slides!
In "Fun with Ciphers," teachers and students learn about the Alberti Cipher Disk and practice using a digital version of the disk to encode and decode messages. The editable Google Slides™ allow students to click and rotate the cipher wheel to a "key" letter to encode and decode messages. The Pigpen Cipher and Caesar Shift Cipher are also presented and space is provided for students to practice encoding and decoding messages.
This product can be used in multiple ways:
- Create a copy of the slides for each of your students to use to learn how to use the three types of ciphers presented.
- Create your own escape rooms for your students and use these digital tools to save yourself time creating and cutting out cipher wheels (please note that this is for your personal use, not for resale).
- Send your students encoded messages to decode.
