Short films are perfect for helping your students understand comprehension skills, especially focusing on such concepts as theme, main idea, mood, and inferential skills. One of the best parts of most short films is that there are no words. Students truly need to pay attention and use inferential-type skills to discover the true meaning of the films. Included in this packet are 6 award-winning short film links (these are on YouTube, so make sure you have access. Students will first watch the short film, after which you will have students take notes using the page provided, and then have students answer the 5 comprehension questions that are included based on the video.
