What educators are saying

Great classroom tool- I always make my own anchor charts, but I loved the pictures and loved it even more that I didn't have to draw them! Thanks!!
I put this poster up in my classroom at the start of every year! It is a great reference for the students to use and see everyday! They are ready when we do actually begin our doubles unit.

Description

Do you love all those cute anchor charts you see? Here is an easy way to have those cute charts! This chart is for the Doubles Strategy for Addition. Simply print the pieces and glue down on chart paper. You can use the sample photograph to create your chart, or create your own arrangement. Two small versions of the chart are also included; one in color, and one in black and white. The small charts are ready to print and use.

Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
