Comprehension by Color- "Becoming President" Article and Activities

Looking for something simple to help your kiddos understand the election process? I wrote this article about the election for my kids, as they needed something simple to help them understand, and a couple of activities to follow.

Included is a crossword puzzle, a word find, and “When I’m President” activity.
If you want to print the entire packet, print pages 3-10, back to back, and stapled. I promise this is easy to assemble. Just print and go!

I’ve been working with my kids on close reading, so the color by comprehension on the right side bar of each page helps them with finding specific evidence in the text to help them comprehend.
Students are asked to:
Circle in red = Unknown words
Underline in green = Facts about
electoral votes.
Underline in blue = Facts about who can be become President
Circle in purple = Important dates and time requirements
