What educators are saying

I used this with my ESL student in order to help him understand and use superaltives and comparatives in his speaking and writing. This resource was very helpful and easy to use.
I appreciate this resource so much! I use it with my one-on-one and small group tutor students. This is a fantastic tool to practice superlatives and comparatives!

Description

Do your students need practice with comparative and superlative adjectives? These simple no prep worksheets explain the rules for making adjectives into comparatives or superlatives and provide ample practice for students.

This resource aligns with the following Common Core Standard:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.3.1.G

Form and use comparative and superlative adjectives and adverbs, and choose between them depending on what is to be modified.

The following worksheets include practice of the rules for comparative and superlative worksheets:

  • adding -er or -est
  • changing y to i and adding -er or -est
  • doubling the final consonant before adding -er or -est
  • add more or most before 2+ syllable words
  • *Just Added: Reference Poster*

Also included are two additional practice pages which are a mixture of all of the "rules". PLUS answer keys!

What Educators are saying about Comparative and Superlative Worksheets:

"They are not real fans of paper and pencil work but these short, rule based activities solidified the concepts for my students. We used two of the pages for practice and then again to quiz. I love that the pages are separated by rule. Very easy for the kids to make sense of these words!" - 3rd grade teacher
