Description

Do your students struggle to write sentences describing themselves? This adjective-sorting activity will give them hands-on practice with this often tricky topic! In this activity, your students will sort the given list of 36 Spanish adjectives into two categories: Yo Soy and Yo No Soy. You could easily adapt this activity for other adjectives, simply by providing your own list. In addition to the hands-on practice, each resource also includes two worksheet versions with the same adjectives. Click here to save 20% on a bundle of all of my sorting activities, or 30% on a megabundle of activities for Spanish 1 students!

This resource contains:

  • one adjective sorting sheet
  • one page of thirty six adjectives in Spanish with dotted lines for cutting
  • one worksheet where students choose between "yo soy" and "yo no soy" and translate the adjective to English
  • one worksheet where students choose between "yo soy" and "yo no soy" and write an original sentence in Spanish about themselves using the indicated adjective
  • answer keys for both worksheets
  • tips for using the resource and a table of contents

This activity works well individually and in small groups and would be a great introductory activity (by using inductive reasoning), application, or review activity. Although designed for use in level one, it also makes a great review for Spanish two.
