Description
Make solving problems about circles fun! This self-checking activity will allow students to get out of their seats and move around the classroom as they solve 18 problems involving circumference and area of circles. Each problem solved will lead the students to a new problem to solve until they have solved all 18 problems. You will be amazed at the math talk you hear and the collaboration between students as they work on this activity!
The majority of the problems are word problems, and this activity includes problems where students have to work backwards to find the radius or diameter of a circle when given the area or circumference. Please look at the preview file to see if these types of problems are appropriate for your students. Please note that the directions instruct students to use 3.14 for pi and to round to the nearest hundredth.
