Description

I hope this proves to be a fun and engaging project for your students to find out a bit more about a few famous African Americans who have created amazing change for our country! This is also great to use for Black History Month. This is meant to be a research-based activity, so it will be necessary for your kids to either research through books or by using the web to find the information needed about Ruby Bridges, Jackie Robinson, and Frederick Douglass.

Each one of the craftivities is 4 pages long and includes fun and engaging information. Students need to research to find the information that is left out of the passage. One of the craftivities is about Jackie Robinson, one is about Ruby Bridges, and one is about Frederick Douglass.

I would highly suggest using the following sites to research:
www.ducksters.com
www.socialstudiesforkids.com
http://alaska.gov/kids/learn/facts.htm
These are all great sites for kids to search, and are very safe!

For 2nd graders, you may need to provide a bit more support and research together as a group! :)

Once the kids have researched and have found all of the answers, they can then color, cut, and glue the craftivity together for display.

This activity is fun, informational, and engaging for students., It also provides a great hallway display!

Happy Teaching!
