Description

Use this point sheet in your classroom for students struggling with behaviors or students with behavior intervention plans. This is editable so you can change the activities in the day and/or the classroom rules to fit your classroom.

Tracking Behaviors

I use this point sheet daily to track students' behaviors throughout the day. This is directly aligned with our classroom rules, which we review each day so students understand all of their expectations. This helps me to easily notice behavior trends based on time of day, subject area, or triggers (which are always noted in the 'needs improvement' category).

Consequences

I give my students the last 10-15 minutes of the school day for choice activity time. The point sheet is used to determine what activities the student is allowed to choose from based on the number of points they earn. For example, if a student earns 28 out of 30 points, they would be able to do most of the activities on the choice board where a student that earns 20 out of 30 points would not have as many options. This also provides an opportunity for teachers to quickly review the student's day and discuss areas of difficulty to plan for strategies to use the next day.

Parent Communication

This is a great and easy way to communicate with parents about their child's behavior each day. I simply take a picture of the point sheet and send that to the parent. Then, if they have any concerns we can discuss that, but this ensures that parents are well aware of how their child is behaving throughout the day.
