    Description

So your students LOVE solving secret codes, but they go through them so quickly it is hard to keep up? This bundle is here for you! There are 101 secret code puzzles to solve! Each deciphered message will teach a fun fact about the topic of the secret code. For example, a Morse code puzzle will teach a fact about Morse code.

These are popular with gifted and talented programs, for fast finishers, or generally for any teacher who wants to teach critical thinking and logic. These worksheets are self-correcting in the sense that if the code is solved correctly, the message will be correct and able to be read.

There are 10 types of secret codes:

    • ASL (American Sign Language)
    • Binary code
    • Shifted alphabet
    • Braille
    • Clocks
    • Greek alphabet
    • Morse code
    • Numbers
    • Pigpen
    • Summer fun

A special bonus for this bundle is a worksheet where students can make their own codes. They can develop their own symbols for each letter of the alphabet, then share it with someone else to try to solve.

Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
Attend to precision. Mathematically proficient students try to communicate precisely to others. They try to use clear definitions in discussion with others and in their own reasoning. They state the meaning of the symbols they choose, including using the equal sign consistently and appropriately. They are careful about specifying units of measure, and labeling axes to clarify the correspondence with quantities in a problem. They calculate accurately and efficiently, express numerical answers with a degree of precision appropriate for the problem context. In the elementary grades, students give carefully formulated explanations to each other. By the time they reach high school they have learned to examine claims and make explicit use of definitions.
