What educators are saying

My students found this resource very fun and it helped them understand what alliteration was. Thank you for this resource!

Description

Everything you need to help your students to master alliteration! Includes a poster for classroom display, literacy centers, and poetry activities. Creative figurative language practice for second grade, third grade, and fourth grade!

Here’s what’s included:

  • Poster for Classroom Display (defines alliteration)

  • Amazing Animal Alliteration Centers - Two sentence strip sets are provided. In the first set, students select a sentence strip that begins a silly alliterative sentence with an alliterative subject. They must continue to use alliteration as they add a predicate to complete the sentence. In the second set, the sentence strips contain the predicate portion of the alliterative sentence. Students provide a subject that continues the alliteration. 24 sentence strips are provided in all. Two recording sheet options are included.

  • Applying Alliteration in Poetry - Students will read original poems using alliteration and highlight examples of alliteration. Two lines of each poem are left blank. Students will create their own alliterative lines and add them. Two poems are included.
