All About Me Activities {Social-Emotional Learning For Back to School}

These All About Me activities are the perfect addition to your Back to School unit! Your students will practice speaking kindly to themselves, identifying some of their best traits, sharing about their favorite things, and the people who love them. Each of these activities would be perfect for reading an All About Me Book, or to use during the first few weeks of school while you assess your students, organize supplies, and get to know them!

Dice Game

Simply slide the cards into a pocket dice and your students can enjoy tossing it around while they get to know each other. I've included 2 versions of cards, as well as 2 sizes.

Slides and Ladders is such a fun and simple board game, and I've included a printable board so your students can practice their number sense and counting while they get to know each other.

Flower Craft

Students will create a simple flower flip book, and tell about themselves on the petals. They will finish the following statements:

Home Craft

Telling about their family and home can be challenging for some students, so this activity is handled with sensitivity and empathy, while still giving them an opportunity to share about the things that "feel like home.

"Pizza My Heart" Craft

Students will tell all about the "pizzas" of their heart, by writing their favorite things on the pepperonis and create a pizza using the template.

Burger Craft

Students will use the burger ingredient templates to share words that describe them. I've included a poster with a word bank, as well as strips of paper with adjectives that students can choose from.

Self-Talk Craft

Students will use the cell phone template to share kind things that they would like to say to themselves. I've included a poster with positive affirmations that you could hang near a classroom mirror for students to practice positive self talk.

Bug Craft

Finally, students will use the template to create a bug flip book. Each body part flips up to tell all about the students. They will finish the following statements:
