This set of Addition and subtraction word problems is geared towards early readers. Each task card features simple sentences with sight words and decodable words, as well as 1-3 clip art images to support reading. They are created for primary students to be able to read and respond independently.
Task cards include several different word problems for each addition and subtraction scenario: part + part = whole, part + unknown = whole, difference unknown, change unknown, etc.
This resource is great for addition and subtraction word problem practice during math centers and activities such as scoot and write the room as well as independent math seat work. Task cards can also be projected for students to complete math journal work or “question of the day” responses.
