    Description

    Help your students be 110% prepared for the AP Language exam, understand all components of the exam, and understand the process steps required for essays (FRQs). This bundle contains 23 resources plus additional links to writing supports and videos.

    1. Exam overview one-pager study chart - contains directions, strategies, reminders, links to resources at a high-level overview. Puts the entire exam into a one-pager reference/study guide.

    2. Synthesis Essay Brainstorming space - getting students to focus on the argument within the synthesis prompt with a T-chart (Pro/Con position points) + source alignment.

    3. Synthesis Essay Writing Organizer - contains steps + prompts + stems and order of thinking process for putting together all parts of this essay.

    4. Argument Essay Steps - One-pager - contains process thinking steps, links, and cues for the argument essay

    5. Argument Essay Writing Organizer - contains T-chart brainstorming space to focus on position + counterclaims, thesis structure support, line of reasoning support, argument starter links, and process thinking steps to write the argument essay.

My students prefer these cards to the graphic organizers and like the novelty of a manipulative writing support.

The card provides the essay structure and stems for integrating sources. I print these out in color and laminate them for students to visualize the Synthesis FRQ as they prepare for the exam. This card (along with the other two essay flashcards below) helps students see the nuances and different tasks required of each of the 3 FRQs.

Rhetorical Analysis Sentence Strips - nearly 50 rhetorical analysis stems to push students' thinking and writing levels with academic language and phrasing for successful development of the rhetorical analysis essay. I print and laminate these strips for students to collaboratively write paragraphs using these stems as a pre-writing activity to independent writing.

    18. Parallelism Rhetorical Device Station Activity - my students love getting up and moving around the room to different stations where they analyze quotes to determine how each quote is an example of parallelism. Students complete a station card to demonstrate their thinking about parallelism, its function, and its purpose. Quotes included and ready to print.

    19. 4 different student-centered activities to deconstruct and practice multiple choice questions, including Expert Lesson, Group Solve, and sentence combining, and writing practice.
