What educators are saying

The book project is fantastic! It sparks creativity and allows students to showcase their understanding in unique ways. It fosters a love for reading and encourages deeper exploration of literature. Highly recommend for any classroom looking to make reading come alive!
This is the second one that I have had my students create. My students loved being able to be creative while still showing that they understood what they wrote.

Description

This A Long Walk to Water, Body Biography Bundle for Print and Distance Learning is filled with all you need to teach and promote the amazing characters from the modern and relevant novel. Salva and Nya are the most requested character studies that I receive from teachers everywhere! Here it is! Your students will find plenty of opportunities for creativity. Teachers and students will experience the unique approach of using a collaborative poster, your A Long Walk to Water novel study, textual evidence, research, and the body biography project!

The project bundle includes 2 characters. Give your students a relevant and modern experience while promoting the 4 C's and achievement. I adapted the body biography concept to align with citing textual evidence, character traits, research, and inference skills.

Includes 2 choices:

★ Each poster is a character from the author, Linda Sue Park's novel. The original artwork is never seen anywhere!

★ Answer key included. I provide you with a completed example of both characters. In your own classroom, answers may vary.

★ Appealing to all grades. Line art for your students to add color and design.

★ Poster is 32 inches high by 10 inches wide. It requires 4 pages each.

★ Bonus - characterization pre-planning sheets for each character!

★ Student handout that explains each part of the body biography project (there are 12 parts).

★ The teacher set up directions, learning objective / learning outcomes, background, tips, and CCSS.

★There is a distance / remote version to the zip folder. You will see the PDF labeled digital version for you to access the link.
