This lesson is centered around the book, "I Love my Hair!", by Natasha Anastasia Ripley. This story celebrates the beauty of African-American hair! In this imaginative story, a girl named Keyana discovers the beauty and magic of her special hair, encouraging children to be proud of their heritage and enhancing self-confidence. This lesson can be accommodated for any grade level, but the standards I provided are for a first grade classroom! This lesson can also be split into multiple days (2-4)!
