Array We Go! Introducing Multiplication, Factors, Primes, & Composites
This is an engaging and visual way to introduce multiplication and the concepts of factors, multiples, primes, composites and MORE! Students build arrays for the numbers 1–25 and look for patterns and characteristics that help them learn to recognize multiples. Directed questions also help them to learn to identify primes and composites. Square numbers, factor rich numbers, and perfect numbers are included for more advanced students.

Multiplication Fact and Addition Fact Baseball
Fact baseball is a fun way to practice mental computation for addition or multiplication, and the basic rules are easy to learn. My students beg to play this game all the time! The game can be played using 6 or 10-sided dice and bingo chips or other counters. Playing an entire season of games would be perfect for keeping records for statistics and probability. This activity is best used with small groups (like Title I math) with 4 to 6 kids playing at a time.
