~Investigating Fingerprints Freebie~Community Helpers - Police Officers
I created this activity for my students to do during our study of community helpers. Students will "become" police officers and investigate their fingerprints. I have students dab their fingers on washable ink pads and place each corresponding fingerprint on this sheet. We then get magnifying glasses and make observations. Students collaborate with their peers and observe their fingerprints and discuss any similarities/differences. You could even have students fingerprint each other. What

Transportation: Land, Air, and Water Sort
This is a great activity for students to work on in centers or when they have finished their work early. If students cannot yet read, instruct the students in finding the beginning sound of each label or use the pictures of land, air, and water instead of the labels.
• Cut out and laminate these pictures and labels. Have students sort the pictures by land, air, and water.
