TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have over ten years of teaching experience at the middle school level. I’ve spent my career enthusiastically teaching English Language Arts, Reading and Writing Lab, Creative Writing, British Literature, and Social Studies. I have had the opportunity to teach internationally in Belize, England, and Africa. Leadership opportunities have allowed me to train and mentor teachers implementing programming and instruction. I’m passionate about instruction. In fact, I’ve had the opportunity to originate a Step Ahead Summer Program, an elective Creating Writing course, interdisciplanary curriculum for the Regional Summer School Program, and I even proposed, created, and implemented a Reading and Writing Lab course that was adopted school-wide to address students’ academic needs.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching philosophy is all about creating engaging learning environments and differentiated instruction to maximize student achievement and learning. I believe in creating challenging and rigorous lesson plans that can be delivered in positive and fun ways so that students can find joy in learning.
