What educators are saying

Used this with a resource I bought from Beyond the Box on Norval Morrisseau and it worked perfectly together for a meaningful Art project
Thank you for creating and sharing this resource. My students enjoyed learning about the woodland art style and then creating their own master pieces.

Description

This worksheet has been designed to accompany a presentation which shows Woodland Style Art, and the art of Norval Morrisseau. Google images and you'll find a lot! I couldn't find any in the public domain that I could use on the worksheet. I show the students a variety of Woodland Style paintings, and discuss the flat colours, often bright colours (sometimes with concentric monochromatic shapes) and the distinctive black outline. Students have a difficult time creating this type of outline, usually keeping their lines all the same width, and having sharp angles, rather than flowing the lines together. I find I am often describing the lines as if they are ribbons. This worksheet is to give the students practice before they choose their own animal and complete a painting.
