Description
The Winter WebQuest will take students around the world to research winter holidays celebrated by a variety of cultures! Students will be exposed to:
* Christmas
* Hogmanay
* Chahar Sanbeh Suri (Festival of Fire)
* Kwanzaa
* Hanukkah
* Pancha Ganapati
A worksheet is provided for students to record their findings. Students are then asked to write a short newspaper article about one of the holidays they researched and draw a picture to go along with it. This is an exciting way for students to explore winter holidays for different cultures and customs.
This is a wonderful December activity. Students will be excited for the long vacation and their own winter holiday celebrations. Help them learn more about their own holiday as well as the holidays of others!
This lesson is intended to take 1-2 class periods to complete. An online format is included for students with internet access, and a printable offline format for students who do not have internet access.
Consider pairing this with the Winter Poetry Webquest for more winter fun!
