Volunteers: The Helping Job

This social living flipchart for Promethean Board teaches what it means to volunteer and how students can volunteer in their community. After the title page, a daily set of objectives are listed along with a thinking prompt to open the lesson. Next is a vocabulary page with the term “volunteer” along with the definition. The next page enlightens students on what volunteers do, along with visuals. Next, students are given examples of several ways they can volunteer on a daily basis. The next page introduces a story of a girl who gets involved in an organization, the video link is on this page to show your class after you’ve introduced it. The last page allows for review and closure of what they’ve learned about volunteering.
