Description

Do your students struggle with identifying and writing thesis statements? These 32 ink-saving, black and white task cards give students a fun way to practice this difficult skill. Students will craft a thesis statement on a given topic, select the best thesis from two multiple choice options, differentiate between attention grabbers and thesis statements, and identify effective and ineffective thesis statements. Rigor is enhanced by students being asked to explain each answer. Student answer sheet + teacher answer key included.

Ideas for use: Bellwork/warm up, stations/centers, Scoot/games, early finisher, independent practice, small group/partner work, test practice, remediation
