What educators are saying

My students loved this fun resource and the activities it includes. Thanks for making teachers life easier.
This had so many great activities and ideas for our at home human body lesson. Our favorite was probably the printable organs!

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THIS UNIT?

-------------------------------------------------------

★ OUTLINE OF LESSONS

I label each lesson with a number to help keep you organized! A two page lesson plan/outline is also included so you can see how I sequence the lessons and activities.

★ TWO SLIDESHOWS

Two beautiful slideshows using real-life pictures are included. One slideshow describes the human body and one slideshow describes our five senses.

★ READING PASSAGES - DIFFERENTIATED VERSIONS

Four reading passages that come in two differentiated versions.

These come in both color and black and white and focus on our brain as our control center, our bones and muscles, our major organs and our five senses.

One version that works well for first grade uses the words "are, can, have".

The second version focuses on the same topics, but uses simple sentences. This version works well for pre-k and kindergarten.

★ WRITING/VOCABULARY ACTIVITIES

These coordinate perfectly with the reading passages. Students trace the sentence and fill in the missing vocabulary word using con text clues and the provided word banks.

★ MY FIVE SENSES POCKET CARDS

Use these beautiful picture cards whole group or in small groups for discussion and sorting.

★ HALF PAGE VOCABULARY/PICTURE POSTERS

Included are posters for eight major organs and all five senses.

★ HANDS ON SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS FOR SENSE OF SMELL AND BONES/MUSCLES

These two experiments are planned out for you and include colorful posters/directions and recording/activity pages.

★ MY FIVE SENSES ACTIVITY PAGES

Multiple worksheets and printables are included for each of the five senses (see product preview for details and photos of each activity included.)

★ POPCORN FIVE SENSES STUDY
This is such a fun way to practice using all of our five senses using popcorn! A colorful word bank, graphic organizer and sentence starter/writing page are all included.

★ HUMAN ORGANS ROLE PLAY

Print and laminate these large, colorful organs and students can display them to see where they are on our body. Also included are descriptions of each organ for them to hold up and read aloud.

★ HUMAN ORGAN FLIP CHART

An adorable way for students to match, color and practice quizzing each other or reading what each organ does for our body.

★ MY AMAZING BRAIN MINI BOOK

Students practice reading about all the amazing things our brains do! They can practice their fluency and vocabulary and then color the pictures.

★ TASTE TEST PICTURE CARDS

Students can sort these colorful picture cards based on what they like or don't like - then they follow up with a coordinating cut/paste activity.

★ STANDARDS ALIGNMENT PRINTABLES

For your convenience, I have outlined the kindergarten and first grade standards these activities target.

I show you how I use this unit, along with supplemental materials such as books, free videos and hands-on manipulatives CLICK HERE
