These templates gave me new ideas and helped save me some time. I am a new mom and having a clear sub binder is everything.
this resource made sub planning so much easier. now if i need to use a day, i can do so worry free of my sub trying to navigate through the day

Description

Save time and help reduce the stress of being out of the classroom with these helpful Google Drive templates for your substitute binder or folder. Simply open and edit the templates from any device, then print and go!

Whether you're planning a well-deserved break or facing an unexpected sick day, rest assured that your guest teacher will have EVERYTHING they need for a successful day in your absence. Let the templates handle the details while you prioritize self-care and much-needed rest!

Inspired by my own experiences as a substitute teacher, these fully editable templates will help ensure your guest teacher feels comfortable and confident while you're away. I often receive notes from my guest teachers about how much they appreciate my organization and informative handouts (and many happy teachers have mentioned the same in their reviews!)

INCLUDED TEMPLATES

  • Welcome Letter: Make a good first impression with this pre-written welcome letter that thanks the guest teacher for coming in and outlines the included information

  • General Information Reference Page: Record your daily schedule, class policies & procedures, points of contact, and other important notes on a single, easy-to-reference page

  • Lesson Plans: Add in your plans on a choice of two templates. A separate file containing ONLY the lesson plan templates is also included to make it easier to edit your sub plans on the go.

  • Emergency Plans: Create an emergency plan in case you don't have time to write out a full lesson plan in the future; you can simply direct your guest teacher to grab your folder and use the emergency plans instead!

  • Technology Instructions: Leave directions and screenshots to help your guest teacher log into your computer, use your projector, etc.

  • Emergency Procedures: Make sure your guest teacher knows what to do in case of emergency or drill.

  • Seating Chart: Create a seating chart using pre-made shapes or add in your own.

  • Class Lists with Pronunciation Guide: Help your guest teacher start off on a positive note by including a pronunciation guide on your class roster.

  • Attendance Forms: Give your guest teacher a uniform way to record attendance and tardies.

  • Daily Report: Encourage your guest teacher to leave behind a quick note about their day so you know how things went.

NOTES

  • All templates were made using Google Slides; however, a Google Sheets template for class lists is also included for your convenience.

  • While these templates were designed with middle and high school in mind, they can work in elementary, too! I’ve heard from several elementary teachers over the years who have successfully utilized these templates. Since they are fully editable, it is easy to change the headings, duplicate pages, etc. If you’re an elementary teacher with questions about whether or not this would work for you, feel free to reach out!
  • This resource DOES NOT include pre-made lesson plans or pre-made emergency plans; you will need to add your own text to the template.

HAPPY TEACHERS HAVE SAID:

"WOW! This has saved me so much time. I also love that it is in Google Drive!" -- Margaret E.

"What an amazing tool for any teacher's toolbox. This easy-to-use document was a wonderful addition to my classroom. I had something similar but this just upgraded what I had. Love it! Thank you so much!" -- Ms B Means Business

"This is so user friendly and functional! The lack of a proper guest teacher binder caused me to drag myself into work rather than take a sick day. With this, I feel confident that I'll be able to take a sick day without stressing about lesson plans and emergency contact information. This resource is beautifully designed and comprehensive---there are literally pages for anything a guest teacher would need to know. I'm so happy with this purchase." -- The Creative Chaos Classroom
