Have you ever had one of your students look at a fire alarm with wonderment?
This Social Story was written to help students learn the rule of not pulling a fire alarm.
It is written from a positive aspect while still getting the point across that fire alarms should not be pulled.
Social stories are a great way to help teach the autistic child how to act appropriately in social situations. They are proven to be most effective when read daily across several settings. Read the story several times a day during random moments for several weeks. Then practice the skill in the natural setting when the opportunity arises. It is best when the student reads the story out loud, but it can also be read by a caregiver. Works well with younger children and children with autism and other disabilities.
Print out the included sheets and be sure to include the personalized page at the beginning with your student’s picture. Add your own student's name, classroom number, school picture, classroom picture and principal picture
If you prefer to show the Social Story on the screen, this EDITABLE story will allow you to present just as a Word Document would.
