I am so excited to share this new resource!!
In this project, based on the hit ABC reality show "Shark Tank," students will invent a brand new item that they believe will be "the next big thing!"
Working with partners (or individually), they brainstorm possible products, work to create their product, create an advertisement (using Animoto.com), and present their new business to the class!
For extra fun, you can invite special guests to act as the "sharks," or business investors! Or, the students can act as the sharks too! The winner can be displayed somewhere special in the school.
I had special guests to come in and be the "Sharks!" They asked questions to the presenters afterwards. It was super fun!
This project can be used to fulfill the Common Core Opinion Writing standard. The students will have to critically think about which product they want to invent, what problem they will solve, who their customers will be, how they will persuade the audience into believing that their product is necessary, etc. They will also work on their public speaking and collaborative skills.
The students will have so much fun and will be able to show off their amazing creative abilities!
I displayed each group's products in the library for the whole school to look at! (Pictures included)
