What educators are saying

We used this during a summer school drama club. The students were anywhere from 2nd-8th grade. These scripts were perfect for a wide range of students. They were the right length to our weekly sessions.
Reader's theatre is always such a hit! My students enjoyed the variety in the scripts that were included in this bundle.

Description

This 149-page pack has 10 readers' theater plays for your shared reading block. Each play comes in a full-page format so students can easily follow along with their assigned parts. Each play also includes a dictionary page to be filled in by the students, comprehension question pages, and writing prompts to help deepen their understanding of what they read.

These plays are perfect for literacy centers or partner work. They work well for shared reading or fluency groups. Each play takes 10-20 minutes.

Each passage has been professionally leveled by Lexile so you know you can trust the level, structure, and complexity of each play. After reading, students can answer different reading comprehension pages, or complete the summarizing pages, to help solidify their understanding of the play. Please note that the Lexile measures are lower than what you would typically see for 5th grade. However, the sentence complexity and themes presented in these plays make up for lower Lexile levels.
