Description

This unit on the rainforest includes activities to go along with six different books. The strategy in this packet focuses on the author's purpose but there are many more reading and writing strategies included. Each story comes with colorful anchor chart posters, activities to teach author's purpose writing activities and a few additional reading strategies. There is a report template included to complete a rainforest animal research project. Also included is a rainforest word wall, seven different rainforest crafts, lesson plans, and word work activities. The focus stories are, Nature’s Green Umbrella by Gail Gibbons, The Great Kapok Tree by Cherry, All About Rain Forest Animals by Mitchell (INCLUDED), If I Ran the Rain Forest Bonnie Worth, The Umbrella by Jan Brett & Over in the Jungle by Marianne Berkes.
