What educators are saying

We've really enjoyed using the quote of the day. We've used it as copy work and discussed our thoughts about it! Will continue using and definitely recommend!!
This was the resource I was looking for. It was very useful and helped my students move forward in their learning. Thank you!

Description

Are you looking to spice up your morning meeting routine? Using a printable or Google Slides quote of the day is the perfect addition to any classroom wanting to include an inspirational morning message in their responsive classroom. There are 180 child-friendly quotes of the day that can be used to teach multiple life lessons during your morning message of morning meeting, or any time throughout the day.

The 180 Quotes of the Day are included in 3 formats:

  • PDF (for print & go, 1 to a page but can be printed as small/large as you want)
  • Google Slides TM - 150 Google Slides (8.5x11)
  • JPEGS - To add to your own slides/presentations

*The old version is also still included for those of you who downloaded prior to August 7, 2023.**

How to Use a Quote of the Day for Morning Message:

During your morning meeting, you should have time set aside for a morning message. This is the perfect time to add in a quote of the day. Start by reading the quote aloud to your class. Then, have the entire class choral read the quote of the day together. After, give your students time to discuss what the daily quote means to them with a partner. Then, they can share out to the group, as comfortable. Throughout the year, students might refer back to old quotes or relate them to books or other lessons they learn during the year.

How to Display the Daily Quote for Morning Message:

The options for displaying your daily quote are limitless. Typically, I display the daily quote each morning near my calendar. We then vote on if we want to "keep the quote" or if we'd like to put it away. We keep about 10 quotes at time, and if they "keep the quote" then we have to retire an old quote. It becomes quite a fun activity with students!

Alternatively, you can use the included Google Slides or JPEGS to insert into your daily slides and display the quote of the day each morning.

Many teachers also decorate the hallway by adding one quote each day, until the entire hallway is decorated!

150 vs 180 Quotes?

The choice is yours. There are 180 quotes included, but I like to use 150. Then, during the last month of school, I give my students a homework assignment to bring in their own quote of the day. Students LOVE finding the daily quotes and love sharing them with the class even more. These can be from a book, movie, something at home, or ANY quote that they would like to share.
