Poetry Lesson Powerpoint with Rubric (Halloween/Fall Theme)

This is a Fall/Halloween theme lesson on poetry. Teachers can use the ad of the PowerPoint for teaching. Students will have to create 3 different poems.

The PowerPoint goes over onomatopoeia, alliteration, simile/metaphor. The PowerPoint also covers three types of poems: Limerick, Name Poem, and Bio Poem.

The attached rubric is to grade the poems. In addition, I also created pumpkin line paper. I print the pumpkin paper front to back and have students make a 'pumpkin booklet'. They write their name poem as the cover and the other two poems go on the end side of the booklet. They turn the booklet in, and I grade on content and neatness.

Bonus: I attached decorated line paper (fall theme) incase you would prefer to have students write poems on this instead.

I like to have students pick their best poem and write the finial draft on the paper to display in my room for the month of Oct.
