What educators are saying

My students loved this activity to help review for their test. We also used it as a social and emotional task to practice being a good sport in non competitive way! You can make it last as long or as short as you want!
My students love to learn place value while being engaged and moving around. Knockout is a huge hit in my classroom. I was happy to find "place value" knockout.

A QUICK LOOK AT KNOCKOUT™ & HOW IT IS PLAYED

1 - Divide your class into 2 single file lines

2 - Display the first slide

3 - The player at the front of his/her line faces off against the player from the other team: the first player to answer his/her question correctly wins and returns to the end of the line!

4 - The player who does not win goes to sit on the team "bench" to cheer on the team!

BUT WAIT: That's not all.

If a player faces these slides, the following could happen:

✅ Double Free Pass: Both players automatically get to stay in the game!

✅ Double Knockout™: Both players are automatically out!

✅ Knockout™/Free Pass: One player leaves, one stays!

✅ Pick a Pal: Choose a player from the bench to return to the game!

This game was a HUGE hit with my class! They asked me to play it every day for a week. I am planning on buying the entire set of Knockout games! This was great review leading up to our test.

My 1st graders love to play Knockout.  I like mixed place value as an end of unit review since it uses expanded form, place value blocks, and hundreds/tens/ones. We also played it at the end of the year as a spiral review of previously taught concepts.  I also have the addition and subtraction set as well.  I'm a big fan of her games!!
