What educators are saying

Very nice resource for exploring Thanksgiving while still focusing on non-fiction text and text features. The multiple choice/true false worksheet was a perfect partner activity for my students and provided them with the opportunity to practice some close reading skills as well.

Description

Visit here for details.

This resource will take your class from traveling on the Mayflower, through the Pilgrims first winter, to meeting the Wampanoag Tribe and ending with the First Thanksgiving.

Three mini readers with informational text related to the First Thanksgiving, Comparing and Contrasting the two groups, and seeing what the lives of the Wampanoag and Pilgrim children might have been like. Each mini reader is followed by activities that correlate to the topics and tools for gathering facts for writing.

Your class will actively compare and contrast the lives of these two groups as well as compare how the groups lived compared to how the students live today.

There are also 6 pages of real life pictures of the Mayflower and the homes (wetu and cabin) with text about the lives of the Wampanoag and the Colonial people.
