This script is simple and versatile. It can be used year after year in different ways…
- I usually use it to make a single class movie. (25- 30 students) I record students speaking in short video clips, then I use a video editing program to put all of the clips together with transitions. I teach the four patriotic songs (with motions) over the course of my 6 week History and Government unit… so it is easy when it comes time to film.
-I have also used this script as a grade level performance with six classes participating. We recorded the student speaking parts as audio (not video) and played the audio recordings as classes transitioned to and from the stage for their featured song performances.
-This script could be used as a completely live performance as well.
The speaking parts are varied and can work for any size class. If you have fewer than 29 students then combine some of the short parts. If you have more than 29 students, a few of the longer parts can be separated. Even your ESOL, special needs and super shy students can be convinced to “speak” one short easy sentence!
The performance is approximately 20 - 25 minutes long.
Costumes are EASY …students just wear their most festive red, white and blue!!
This Patriotic themed performance package can be used by an elementary classroom teacher, a music teacher, a summer camp coordinator, a vacation bible school, or a drama program instructor.
