What educators are saying

My students use an alternate curriculum, up to 5th grade, and several are below a preschool level. This resource was wonderful for my kids who need work on one to one correspondence, prewriting/tracing, and working the muscles with the clothespins!
Thank you for creating this activity. This was and still is a perfect activity for my newcomers. They are having so much with this.

Description

This resource includes 240 pages of activities to use in the classroom to work with students still learning one to one correspondence when counting. Each activity comes in different forms to make sure there is something for every learning style in your classroom! The activities were created to use with common materials you already have in your classroom to build one to one correspondence in your students! This way, you don’t have to make an extra trip to the store!

Here's what's included:

-Ten Frame Mats

-Round Clothespin Tasks #1-10

-Rectangle Clothespin Tasks #1-10

-Dot Cards #1-10

-Punch Cards

-I See Booklets

-Counting Books

-Mini Books

-Bingo Dauber Pages

Each activity has a thorough description and visual to help you implement it in your classroom. These activities would make great centers for anytime throughout the school year. Use at the beginning of the year for a refresh in kindergarten or as a work station for students that need extra practice with counting.

Ten Frame Mats

The Ten Frame printables can have many different purposes. Students can create balls with play dough or moon sand to match. Or use bingo chips, pom-poms, or even finger paint to practice counting one to one, number recognition, and counting.

Clothespin Tasks

The Clothespin Tasks are perfect for a hands-on approach. Students match up a clothespin to each dot on a card. Use the dotted numbers for students to trace the number with their finger before counting.

Dot Cards

Use the dot cards for quick counting flashcards for students or for students to practice matching manipulatives to the dots, such as pom-poms, mini erasers, or counters.

Punch Out Cards

Use these printer friendly punch card pages for counting practice that also counts as fine motor work. Students can use hole punch or cotton-tipped applicators with paint to “dot” each number while counting.

I See Bookets

I introduce these booklets during either small group time or one on one teacher time depending on the student’s ability level. Once a student begins to get the hang of it, I add it to his or her workbox system to practice independently using either bingo daubers or stickers to use, or I laminate everything and add Velcro to secure sticking. Once a student gets the hang of one book, use another to practice using different objects with the same concept. These are great booklets to send home to practice.

Stamp or Sticker Counting Books

Stamp or sticker books are great motivation for your students to practice matching 1:1 and counting. Have these books available for your students at a center and allow them to choose what they with to use to color in or math to the blank dots. Dauber bingo markers, stickers, crayons, or stamps are all great options!

Mini-books

Use these printable mini-books to practice one to one correspondence with dabbing dots in the circles. Use cotton-tipped applicators or any coloring supply to fill in the dots on each picture!

Dauber/Bingo Chip Pages

Use these pages to create more fun counting books for your students! Once they have colored in the dots and the rest of the pictures, practice counting in the books often for additional practice. You can also put blank numbers in plastic sleeves and have students use play dough, bingo chips, pom poms, or any other manipulative students are motivated by to practice counting. Printer friendly and color options both included.
